The food here was really good! The chips tasted freshly cooked and the salsa tasted fresh as well. We started out with the queso dip and the papusas which were really good. We both ended up getting the steak chimichanga which was great and the rice and beans that it came with was awesome too.
Tacos Catrachos! La Campensina serves delicious food with unique options, drawing on Salvador, Tex-Mex, and other cultures, such as their hella good Tacos Catrachos (Honduran Tacos). We came for their fresh margaritas other reviewers posted about... they did not disappoint, La Campensina is now our favorite spot for traditional margaritas that remind us of that time we were sipping margs in Mexico! Oh, and they have great happy hour deals on them too, 3-7pm daily! Wife loves their frozen lime & sangria frozen margarita swirl. I go for either the classic lime margarita, grande of course, or an artisanal Mezcal margarita. We also highly recommend their empanadas (chicken fried turnovers), Pollo con Tajadas (think loaded plantain fries) , and of course their Honduran Tacos. And while I’m not a papusa connoisseur... these were the best papusas I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Wait, did I mention their other entrees, like the La Primavera or any of the fajitas... seriously, everything is delicious! Oh, and super friendly service! #SupportLocal
What a gem of a find. My girlfriend and I went here yesterday and wow, I was quite surprised. Portions were amazing (probably largest guacamole for the cost 13 I’ve ever had), taste (especially the Al pastor tacos) were better than expected, and overall experience like service and atmosphere were just phenomenal. Probably my favorite place for tacos. Come during their specials - even better deals! Fajitas were probably slightly above average, but still great. Would come back 100%!
This is a quintessential authentic place. The burritos will taste different, because it's made more authentically. Get the Street Burrito. The spices on the meat are fantastic and the service, impeccable, very attentive. They know the menu and can help direct you. Go for the burrito, albeit many options on the menu will hit home. Much better priced than most other places. Very clean bathrooms. They have many lunch specials and a long, long happy hour Mon through Sat.
Best Mexican restaurant ever! The servers were super nice and the servings were huge! The guacamole and chips were fresh and delicious. The Bistec con Camarones, Grilled Shrimp, Carne Asada, and Chicken Fajitas were all delicious, but the Salmon a la Campesina was absolutely incredible. The sauce was creamy with the rice. The salmon was crispy and perfectly cooked. Absolutely delicious. Everything was very delicious. Quaint little place with the best Mexican food! Definitely worth a try!
11/10. The happy hour menu is too good to be true! We love all the food and always get frozen margaritas. We are regular and they ALWAYS welcome us with the best service. Atmosphere feels cozy and authentic. I wish I could give them 6 stars!
The reviews don't lie, this is a fantastic little place. I went around 230 on a Sunday and it was quiet, the food came out really fast, delicious, and fresh. It's a small and quiet atmosphere perfect for a lazy Sunday date.
We love coming here as it’s always a fun evening out (a treat for our kids and ourselves). Staff is super friendly and great with our family of four (we often come with our neighbors and their kids - two families totaling 8). Pablo and Alfredo are the best! I’ve come here with girlfriends too (sans kids) and it’s also been great. Kids are huge fans of the yellow queso, quesadillas (comes with fries) and the baked chicken with rice off the kids menu. Chips and salsa are a favorite and I’m also a fan of their quesadillas and their fajitas. Happy hour is always a treat as well. I typically get the large beers (modelo especial or blue moon) but their strawberry frozen margaritas are my husbands favorite. Recently, I tried the sangarita (red sangria with the frozen lime margarita) and our friend had the swirl margarita. Pics are compilation from the many times we’ve visited. Not shown are the papusas which are my favorite. I like to order them for lunch pickup.
